"Wake up the dying dont wake up the dead"

Wake up the dying,
Dont wake up the dead
Change what your sayin,
Dont change what youve said
Now that its time that
I got out of bed

When I'll walk myself
Down sycamore street
The sun beats down
No shoes on my feet
And I stumble on
A daisy through concrete

Pink and brown babies
In pink stroller cars,
Know that its good
They dont care where they are
They know that home
Doesnt feel very far

When I'll walk myself
Down sycamore street
The sun beats down
No shoes on my feet
And I stumble on
A daisy through concrete

I Have not had a good week. Work has been boring, I've spent most of it on my own.. I have been feeling a bit ill and run down, so ate like a pig (dont tell anyone but i ate a whole bar of dark choc on my own!). I went out for drinks with work yesterday and now I'm suffering for it, and yes I know its self inflicted!

But, Im sitting here now, listening to some music and being cheered up by it. The Eels is currently playing and no matter the subject matter, no matter how sad and lonely the lyrics appear to be at times... there is always a sense of unconditional hope. A Daisy through concrete is a song that always cheers me up. The thought of walking down the street barefoot, tripping on that little bit of beauty amongst a concrete paradise..its a thought that makes me smile.

Even the albums written surrounding the tragic death of his sister, there is hint of hope in the songs. "the friendly ghost" and "last stop: this town" projecting the image that even after you die you get the chance for that last goodbye. "Are you missing the dearly bereft?"

On a buster note, we have been t-touching this week, which he seems to be enjoying and it does actually chill him out which is good! He is dozing by my feet as we speak... Also been working on him walking like a normal dog, not a steam train! So out we go armed with clicker and cheese, and after 5mins he gets the idea and walks in a very civilised manner.

I'm going to leave you today with possibly my favourite eels song, Ps you rock my world.
"maybe its time to live"
